Over more than 200,000 hectares, the Vercors Regional Natural Park is an enchanting kingdom marked by remarkably preserved fauna and flora. When you choose to stay at our hotel and restaurant in the Vercors Massif, you’ll be able to enjoy a special location at the gateway to the Hauts-Plateaux nature reserve.
Famed both for its craggy terrain and thundering gorges, the Vercors Regional Natural Park will give you access to a wealth of trips all year round. Experience for yourself the progressive change in landscape while you go up the mountainside. Majestic oak trees make way for beeches, which then become forests of mountain pines and finally Alpine fields. With no less than 140 species of nesting birds or hawks as well as numerous hoofed mammals like the chamois, the Vercors Massif provides an incredible, unfiltered experience in the heart of wild nature. You can also enjoy the refreshing nature of the grottos of Choranche, Thaïs or La Luire (2 hours by car from the hotel).
Hotel Le Chalet in Gresse-en-Vercors is ideally located at the gates of the Hauts-Plateaux nature reserve. This environment, which in fact makes up only around a tenth of the overall Vercors Park, is quite simply the best-preserved area in the region, being totally untouched by human activity. It makes up the largest nature reserve in all of mainland France.
